Financial Discipline

Issue
The FY22 budget states a critical issue that City efforts “typically come in over initial budgets and have created project budget shortfalls.”

My Stand
I’m a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and have a proven record of success planning and delivering scores of projects (some with budgets well over $100 million) on time and on budget without compromising outcomes or quality.  Key skills I bring include:

  • Transparency
  • Proactive Strategic Planning and Soliciting Competitive Bids for RFPs
  • Budget Development and Management
  • Identifying and Leveraging Grant Funds (Federal, State, etc.)
  • Financial Acumen, including Value Analysis to find the project’s Cost/Value Sweet Spot
  • Planning for Future Related Expenses
  • Vendor and Partner Management, including Negotiation Skills

Getting ahead of project issues is simpler, cost effective, and smarter than being reactive.  It also allows us to perform risk management.  We will make informed decisions as a community and not be caught off guard by surprises.
